Suspected drug peddler killed in police shooting in Kusunti (Video)
A man has been killed in police shooting in Kusunti, Lalitpur Monday afternoon.
A police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the Metropolitan Police Crime Division Ajay KC had gone to arrest one Praveen Khatri, a suspected drug peddler, on a tip-off that he also possesses arms. "He tried to flee by jumping from veranda after learning that the police have encircled his house," Chief at the division Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dinesh Amatya said.
"He had pistols in both the hands and tried to fire at the police," SSP Amatya claimed. "He was killed in retaliatory firing by the police," he added.
Details of the incident have yet to be received.
