Chitwan Banda withdrawn

 The District banda called by the Nepali Congress, Chitwan, today demanding release of its cadres has been withdrawn.

The NC, Chitwan, said that the strike was withdrawn from 1:00 pm after the direction of the NC Central Committee and in view of the Eid festival of the Muslim Community.

 NC District President, Tek Prasad Gurung, said that the banda was withdrawn after Acting President of the party, Ram Chandra Poudel, assured for release of the arrested cadres.

 Normal life in the district was hit hard due to the district banda.

The Nepal Tarun Dal and Nepal Students' Union (NSU), sister organisations of the party, had also called district banda on Thursday till 3:00 pm demanding release of its cadres.

The NC and its sister organisations had called the district closure after police arrested Tarun Dal, Bharatpur Town Vice-President Pramish  Rai and Yam Bahadur Karki on the charge of thrashing a driver of a vehicle of an Indian number plate at Bharatpur on Tuesday. RSS
