Higher education policy for skilled manpower: says chairman regmi

Chairman of the Interim Election Council (IEC) Khil Raj Regmi has said higher education policy should be formulated in such a way that it can generate skilled manpower for addressing social needs.

Speaking at a national seminar organized in Bhaktapur today by the University Grants Commission with an objective of formulating country's higher education policy, he said we should be sensitive for playing effective role in civilization, culture and goodwill for social transformation.

 Investment in education is accepted with separate importance as compared to other sectors, he said. 

Chairman Regmi also said all the citizens should be sensitive towards political stability of the country while stating that policies are dependent in state system, state cooperation and resource management.

 Present government is formed for holding election with maximum participation of people in a free and fair environment, the Chairman said, adding although it has many things to do for development and prosperity, its main priority is election and called for constructive participation of all in the election.
